Started in 1996, =elemadrid= has quickly built up a reputation as one of the best Spanish language institutes in Spain and Latin America. We are dedicated to providing the best possible services and our students come to us with very high expectations. Our aim is to exceed them.

Outstanding teaching combines with our innovative Spanish language programs to make =elemadrid= ideal for those seeking an efficient Spanish course in Spain closely interlinked with Spain's culture and people. Our teachers are without exception native speakers from Spain with extensive experience teaching Spanish to international adult learners. As a medium-size Spanish language institute in Madrid, we offer a friendly and informal but nonetheless highly professional and adult character.

Our distinctive dual-focus program distinguishes us from other Spanish language schools abroad. Through our language immersion program (Practice Immersion) students continue practicing Spanish after leaving the classroom. They are highly encouraged to capitalize on their study-abroad experience by socializing with Spaniards in both cultural and day-to-day activities. In short, live Spain to the fullest.

A school is only as good as its students and staff. On both counts, our Spanish language school is blessed with learners and teachers seriously focused on results.

Doctors, dentists, businesspeople, journalists, scientists, programmers, academics, university students, retired people and other demanding students come from all around the world to study Spanish in Madrid at =elemadrid= . They are on average 32 years old and have clear objectives in their Spanish language study. They have not come to Spain to escape the routine of their university curriculum or to bide time before they decide what to do with their lives. They are demanding and we aim to exceed their expectations.

Our Spanish teachers are an equally dedicated people: as a matter of policy they are hired by =elemadrid= exclusively on a long-term basis. And so most of our teachers have been with us since the opening of the Spanish language school in Madrid in 1996. Our total staff of 13 includes eight highly qualified teachers: Helena, Maria, Dolores, Javi, Carmen, Pilar, Karma, and Ana. For their part, Bea, Marivi, Pierre, Patrizia, Zakia take care of all the other business at the language school, from maintenance and marketing to registration and management.

Methodology and learning materials

To support our dual focus methodology (see our Practice through Immersion program), we have developed outstanding Spanish learning materials. Among these are the grammar book Gramática Lola and a number of manuals for classroom and field use. We also provide industry-specific courses and materials such as Medical Spanish.

Location and facilities

Our fully air-conditoned Spanish language school in Madrid is located in a beautiful area of the city centre, on Serrano street, walking distance to public transport, museums, and the Retiro park.

It is equipped for a maximum of 70 students with a lounge, full Internet access, two computers and a printer, a library including newspapers and videos, and other facilities including tv & video sets for students' use.
